Down
through time certain symbolic associations with color in gemstones
have developed. Of course, many of us find colors that are pleasing
to the eye, have personal meaning or healing attributes.
Yellow – If worn by a man, denotes secrecy (appropriate for
the silent lover); if worn by a woman this would indicate
generosity.
White – For men it signifies friendship, integrity, and
religious commitment, purity, affability, and contemplation for
a woman.
Red – For a man this indicates command, nobility, lordship,
and vengeance; for a woman, pride, haughtiness, and obstinacy.
Blue – On a man this conveys wisdom and high magnanimous
thoughts; for a woman: pride, haughtiness and obstinacy.
Green – For a man this signifies joyousness, transitory hope
and for a woman: childish delight and change
Black - if worn by men signifies gravity, good sense,
constancy and strength; for young women, fickleness and
foolishness yet for the married woman would show constant love
and perseverance.
Violet – For men this signifies sober judgment, industry and
gravity and for a woman: high thoughts and spiritual love.
